The Thinking Blogger

I was tagged by Yenjai to list the Thinking Bloggers that I read.

This meme, started by Ilker, has been around for some time and many blogs have been listed already, which makes my choices limited. Perhaps I shall just highlight a few that have not been listed before (forgive me if I didn’t notice that it HAD already been named).

1. LC Teh is a fellow Sungai Petani blogger. He writes snippets about his thoughts and highlights interesting thoughts on the web on his Multiply site. Although I don’t go there everyday, I get feeds from Multiply including his latest updates. Keep it up, LC.

2. Pages of My Life a.k.a. “Why so kaypo?” are jottings of ME. Her writing is somewhat cryptic at times, ok.. often. But they are apt, to the point and make me think. Go and read her “classics”. “Classics” doesn’t imply “old”, ok?

3. “Pelf-ism is contagious” is a blog that makes you think about conservationism, the environment and your fellow man, and is entertaining at the same time.

4. Whatalulu is a political blog. Lulu is witty and writes on a light-hearted (if you see the humour in the issue) note, and yet delivers a sharp sting. Go read.

5. Malaysian Medical Resources is a group blog by is mostly written by Palmdoc and Dobbs. They highlight the most up-to-date medical news and happenings in medical blogosphere in Malaysia and around the world. They host the Malaysian Medical Blogrounds on MMR. Free free to join in the discussion in the forum. There are forums for the public, medical students and a “doctors only bulletin board” which has been online in various forms for many a year.

So…. go read and I hope they make you think too.

Looks like Lilian on 5xmom.com also gave me this Thinking Blogger’s award, thank you!! *muaks*

Palmdoc of MMR also returned the compliment and named me a Thinking Blogger. Thanks! *hat-tip*

Totally N.O.T.E.S.

N.O.T.E.S. = Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery

Right after the publication of a report of transvaginal cholecystectomy by a team of New York doctors, an independant team of surgeons in France published videos of Operation Anubis.

An illustration of the procedure.

The NOTES multidisciplinary team led by Professor Jacques Marescaux.

On April 2nd 2007, at the University Hospital of Strasbourg, Professor Jacques Marescaux and his team, B. Dallemagne, MD, S. Perretta, MD, D. Mutter, MD, PhD, FACS, A. Wattiez, MD, D. Coumaros, MD, successfully performed the first no scar surgery. This first human incisionless operation was carried out using a flexible endoscope for transvaginal cholecystectomy in a 30-year-old woman with symptomatic gallstones.

The New York operation was carried out with laparoscopic ports in place in order to assist in case of problems with the NOTES. However, the French team performed the procedure completely scarless.

You can view the video of the procedure if you register in Websurg.

Another “kembang” moment!!!!!

The HOT MAMA Eastcoastlife appeared in an interview by Martin Lidsey on MartyBLOGs today.

And *drumroll* she names MOI as one of her frequent reads.. woohooo! I’m in cloud nine times nine liao :-)

Blog apocalypse

Click for the “Last Post” Midi from http://www.mfiles.co.uk

Imagine if an “apocalypse” of the blog world occurs… what would the last message be on your blog? Technically, if blog apocalypse happens, there wouldn’t be anyone to read anything I could have written. So there’s no need to write anything more.

I suppose the point of this exercise would be to tell blogosphere what matters to me and what important message that I want everyone to know before I stop blogging.

1. First and foremost, Jesus loves me and you … “Faith” is just a simple relationship between you and your God, and between you and your brother or sister. He is the one solitary life that impact all lives.

2. I love you, Joseph.

3. Take enough fibre in your diet, to make your stools soft and bulky. Go to toilet when you need to and leave once the “business” is over. Don’t stay in there for eternity…. ok, don’t stay in the toilet any longer than necessary. Please don’t force your bowels to open according to your clock. It doesn’t wear a watch. YOU have to follow it’s urge. You can coax it to give you the urge by your lifestyle habits… but don’t get too regimented with the bowel opening schedule.

Do that and your haemorhoids will behave themselves.

4. I want to wish all my blog-friends a good “life-after-blog-death“…. no matter how you express yourself and no matter what circle of friends you come into after blog apocalypse, be true to yourself and accept each other as he or she is. All the very best in your future endeavors…

…….. zzzzzz………. snowstorm on the screen…….

Err….. Can I still have IM?

This is a tag from Lilian by way of her K-Kia. It was started by the urbanmonk whose message is

Change the world by changing yourself. Start now, by taking this on yourself. For it will inspire those around you. And the whole world will change.

I’d like to know what your final post would be like …

Here are the instructions…. He’s giving a dollar to charity for every blog-post in this tag, up to $500.

Wowwww…. in cloud nine.

With my connection at work down for the past few days… I’ve had to wait till I’d gotten home before I could get online. I’d cancelled my unlimited DiGi GPRS service ‘cos I made the mistake of thinking that the streamyx service was reliable. Ish…

That is not the reason for the “WOWWWW” though… it’s finding that BernardChan.Net had been mentioned in 2 influential blogs :

1. LiewCF found it interesting that someone was teaching X-rays on blogosphere. Haha… Here is a professional blogger who has a good following of readers. He’s a guru of sorts in techie-land. Thanks for spreading the word. :-)

2. Alang lists BernardChan.Net as one of the “Strongest blogs in Malaysia”… This deserves a double “wowwww”.. tak sangka betul, la.

Alang based his list on SEOMoz’s page strength, a composite score based on links, search engine ranks, technorati ranks etc. (“etc” cos I don’t really understand most of the components that they’re talking about)

SEOMoz gave me a score of … *drumroll*

Ok.. ok.. I’m coming down from cloud nine already.
