Don’t jail doctors

I’ve put up a banner on the sidebar in support of Palmdoc’s campaign to call for the release of Dr Basmullah who was jailed for not registering his clinic in accordance with the PHSFA.

    any premises by right should be registered, no? but maybe jailing is just too harsh. Perhaps they could have just give him a friendly reminder first.

    not registering is an offence, but i don’t think it amounted to jailing. didn’t ‘they’ think it was a good chance to raise the avenue anyway? i think they EFNTD.

    and the main thing i am here is:

    Jail only those who capitalize on others misery and charges exorbitantly to enrich themselves. Geez, those docs are behaving like lawyers these days. LOL

    I would have thought that perhaps a 3 month’s suspension on his licence would have been a more fitting sentence, if such alternative is offered in the relevant Act
