  3. pelf August 18, 2007 4:47 pm

OK, so what does THAT imply? It’s an abnormality, right?

Fibrate, haha.. can you detect the REAL ABNORMALITY in this X-ray?

    Angel, what? WINGS? ;-)

    Pelf, it’s a congenital abnormality (i.e. from birth)… but it’s not a problem.

    Wuching, glad you looked. Haha.

    Captain, great! Err.. two what?

    Firehorse, hey! You’re back!

Meeyuaw, if you look, you can see two bright silky lines from the upper part of the X-ray near the ribs on the left side (which is on your right) flowing down to the bladder in the pelvis area. Those are the ureters filled with X-ray contrast material.

Jonzz, that’s abnormal. But not all abnormalities are problems. :-)

Judy, what were you doing lah?

May, there’s SUPPOSED to be a third…. there supposed to be one on the RIGHT side. But because of a block in the ureter, it’s not filled up with contrast.

Yenjai, well.. it would be more classical if the right ureter lighted up as well. :-)

So how often does this duplication occur? Is it hereditary? Will this person urinate more often?

  14. Bengbeng August 20, 2007 9:41 pm

wow..this is a classy post..i have only one?

  15. Bernard August 20, 2007 10:04 pm

Giddy Tiger, it’s congenital (present from birth) but not hereditary. Doesn’t run in families.

Bengbeng, the normal anatomy is two. This patient had three. Two on the left and one on the right.

I dunno how many you have ;-)
