Blood Donation Drive II, Carnivall II and Birthday II (…just added)

Today I’ll just post some photos as follow up to the previous posts…

The blood donation campaign is on-going.

Here’s the shot of Joseph and papa bracing for the landing at the end of the slide. Hmmmm…. waitaminute, actually it looks like papa’s the only one bracing for the landing.

papa must have got strong bones, esp back, to be able to take such rough tumbles!

  2. titoki January 17, 2007 5:18 pm

Joseph’s papa is afraid of height or is it the water?! LOL

  3. Bernard January 17, 2007 5:22 pm

Aiyor, I got white coat phobia and looks like I will never ever get to donate blood. My BP which is normal will shoot sky high whenever I try, and got clammy hands as well. Never mind, I will trade my organs instead. Same goes for those slides and roller-coasters. I mean same effect.

I enjoy donating blood, but it’s not so frequent in a small place over here these years… The last time was probably three, four, five years ago?!!

I’m just a sucker for the milo n biscuits after that…think that’s my main motivation. HA HA! I know..abit sad la me…what to do? I’m still a kid inside! HEE HEE!

Eventhough I’m quite a regular in blood donation, the moment I see the fat needle, I started to have cold feet. Worse is, my vein is not visible, the nurse has to work on my arm in order to find the green ‘fella’. Argghh ;P

Err .. never been to waterparks, not comfortable running or tumbling around while in swimsuit *shy* heheee

Did you asked Joseph if he has any “gf” in the class. ;)

wah… die lor..once when I first donated blood, the nurse took 5 times to make the damn needle enter. And the eeling is horrible. Need to get through that phobia..

can feel that the big needle moving left and right in my vein.

Wah, is the photographer a pro? Stationed there to take photos at the bottom of the slide?

lillian, well yes, some people do get anxious when it comes to these “chi kek” types of activities.

Have you signed up with the Transplant Resource Centre? In Penang, the phone number is 04-2002435/2293333 (ext. 435). They give you a card like ths to carry with you:

LB, good that you’ve donated blood. There’s always a need… until the day that man can manufacture artificial “blood” we’ll still need donated blood to save lives.

But true, some less densely populated areas will not have its own blood bank… they get their supply from a central blood bank.

mott, i got Milo and biscuits too!! Plus the blood bank gives out a little goodie bag like this one…

hoiling, we all get a bit anxious when it comes to needles.. including doctors and nurses. I don’t like to get pricked myself. :-)

    Joseph got GF? No larr… i didn’t ask. Should I? Hmmm…

Ray, sorry to hear about your bad experience. The nurses in blood bank are usually very good at putting in needles. My nurse did it in one go. If you tell them that you had a bad experience before, they’ll be happy to get a more experienced nurse to do it.

Chen, uahh.. kena again ah… ok ok i’ll get on it. First times…

jonzz, yes, there’s a photographer making his rounds in the park. He takes photos and shows them on the PC at a booth near the exit. You just pick out the photo and get them to print it out. Unfortunately, it’s not company policy to copy the file to my CF card, although they had a card-reader there.
