Making the bed

Over the Deepavali weekend, we had guests stay over in the house. Joseph’s room was occupied, so he bunked in with me. As I took out the comforter from the closet, he insists on demontrating his bed-making skills. Gym training really made a difference in muscle strength for this kid… the comforter is heavy.

Is this cancer?

Here’s a breast lump from a 17-year old girl who had it for a 2 years. It had been increasing in size and recently she started having pain. The question for the week is: “Is this cancer?” What do you think? Breast cancer or benign disease?

What is cancer?

Cancer is a set of cells that grow & multiply rapidly, beyond control and beyond the normal limits of that type of cell. Because of the rapid growth, the surrounding normal cells are disrupted and the function destroyed. What’s worse, cancer cells spread to sites in the body where it is not supposed to be.

Pool time!

Joseph started going to the swimming pool when he was 6 months old. He was quite happy in the water at first. However, he had a scare when he was 2 years old and became afaid to go anywhere but the most shallow pools. Recently, he has picked up the courage to into the deeper pool. He loves frolicking in the water and making a splash. And making friends.

What can I do to improve his confidence in the water? How should he start learning to swim?

Jump in.

Whooooeeeeeeeee!
