The Artist

These drawings were made by Joseph early this year. I was looking at the old photographs and noticed these drawings he made on the ole’ whiteboard.

Can you guess what were the characters here?

What or who are these?

There are 3 drawings next to each other. Who are these?

He he, no limits to a child’s imagination and interpretation. Hmmmm, let me see…

So many hovering bats? Could the one on the left be Batman, ha ha…

The one in the middle holds a sword. Too many possibilities. No clue.

The one on the extreme right has four arms and holds 4 swords. Lol, if your son likes Mortal Kombat.. it would be Goro.

    Ha ha ha.

Haha. I could never guess what my son is drawing.
I always has to ask: what is this?

Kenny, I still remember the pain of my secondary school.
My art teacher literally resent me : She usually give me 25 (out of 100) for my drawing!

Kenny, you’re an artiste.. with your guitar.

Jonzz, there are lots of bats, but the little fella is not batman. The 2 characters are fighting.. but not from Mortal Kombat. He’s too young to watch that one.. Hehe.

twasn’t easy, but my guesses are

1st pix - two dragonflies flying over the sea?

2nd pix - his fascination for dinasours have been replaced by bats? gross, but are the bats trying to pluck out the boy’s eyes, and his guardian angels are trying to chase them away with sticks?

2 birds flying over the sea for first drawing?
There’s a bat, a baby in diapers in the second one… Not a very imaginative description but what to do, I’m hopeless in art!

wah.. eve, why so morbid one?

    nyonya, that’s original!

auntie JT, that interpretation also so morbid… at least you thought of the guardian angels.

Annie!! 2 birds over the sea is RIGHT! And baby is diapers is RIGHT ON!!

Hmm.. it takes a mother to see a child’s mind, eh.

  12. Bernard October 31, 2006 11:23 pm

    jonzz, or a father. :-)

    OK, Annie’s “baby in a diaper” is actually a self-portrait ;-)

There’s the bantal-busuk rabbit in the right hand and a milk bottle in the left. Crosslines on the face is because of Disney Channel.

The birds over the sea are Valiant the pigeon being chased by an evil Falcon over the English Channel. Familiar with the story?

p.s. aren’t there any Star Wars fans out there?

Is the Star Wars thingie a clue for Obi Wan Kenobi and General Grievous?

  14. Bernard November 1, 2006 9:24 am

Haha, jonzz, look like you’re the Star Wars fan. Yup, that’s obi wan kenobi in a light sabre battle with general grievious.

aunty jt, you’re too old for Disney Channel :-). They show this clip on how to draw cartoon characters. The face always starts with cross-lines.

jan, hahahhaha… you must’ve been bugging him. I guess when Joseph’s 9, he might say the same to me. He’s 5 now.

Chen, close. I guess the scallops on the wings don’t look like feathers :-).

BP, he’s not scared of anything, only shy with strangers. He says.

Let me put on my magic ball see what it tells me. Hmm…

Pic #1 - Some birds fly over the sea. They are called the…. the…. Valiant. Yes! It’s the Valiant being chased by an evil Falcon.

Pic #2 - Hmm… cute little boy. Looks like he’s wearing a Huggies pull-up diaper while holding on to his fav bantal-busuk rabbit in the right hand and a milk bottle in the left. And he’s craving for a donut???

Correct or not? See! I’m so cleaver!!!! wakaaakaaa…

  21. Bernard November 4, 2006 11:27 pm

Hahhhahahha HQ, really funny. And yes he loves donuts too.
