Home Sweet Home

Had a house-warming party last night. My brother handled the BBQ pits the whole evening, thanks bro. It rained lightly on and off but, thank God, the heavy downpour came moments after the last guest left. All in all, a great time.

Joseph “helping” Sok-sok get the fire going.

A 10/10, a very nice hand-made gift

Perhaps some more photos later, when I download them from my dad’s camera. I was too busy to take any with mine.

Boys’ Brigade

The 3rd Sungai Petani Company of the Boys’ Brigade meet every Saturday at 9am. Here, boys (and girls) aged up to 18 years meet for wholesome activities. The Boys’ Brigade (in short, BB) was founded in Glasglow, Scotland on 4th October 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith. It thus became the oldest uniformed youth organisation in the world. Today, the BB is found in over 60 countries. The BB is recognised by Kementerian Belia dan Sukan Malaysia as a youth body and by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia as a school’s extra co-curricular activity. It’s motto is SURE & STEDFAST.

Joseph enjoys the programme so much, he can’t wait to go to BB every Saturday.

Gymnastics for kids

It’s been a month since Joseph started going to Penang’s MSN for gym. He’s still enjoying every moment of it. Got a bit upset when the coach made him stretch (literally) to the limit but he wants to go again.

Lord of the Rings

A jacuzzi for the rear end: Sitz bath

How do you provide some relief for patients with pain in the perineal (between the anus and the scrotum/vagina) or peri-anal pain after, an open hemorrhoidectomy or even an episiotomy (after delivery)? Here’s a simple method to try out. Soak in a warm, salt-water bath. Having been used successfully for a long time to sooth the sensitive area, it’s place in post-op care is extremely valuable. It’s called a Sitz bath.

Here’s a gadget to ease the pain and keep the hygiene of the perineal and perianal region. Place the basin on any sitting toilet (it fits nicely). Fill up the bag with warm salt water. Fit the end of the tubing into a slot in the basin, adjusting it so that the tip points to you-know-where. Let the soothing, warm water flow down showering the area with comfort. When the bag is empty, just sit there and enjoy the nice warm feeling.

Sorry, got no demo pictures :-)

There’s an outlet below the brim, so as to direct spillage into the toilet
