Colonic diverticuli

After a long period of constipation, some patients develop diverticuli in their large intestine (colon and rectum). These are usually harmless.

Sometimes, however, they can bleed. Occasionally, this bleeding may be so severe that it needs surgery.

Gastrointestinal disease is everything that’s wrong about the digestive tract. Even a simple diarrhoea or “gas” are disorders of the GI tract. Some are simple problems. Some are life-threatening. There’s a wide spectrum.
